What is a Home Warranty?

A Home Service Warranty or service contract is similar to the warranty originally provided by the manufacturer of your equipment. It’s like having an insurance policy to protect you against any unexpected repair bills or break down on your air conditioner, water heater, major appliances, plumbing and electrical.

A Home Service Warranty is a yearly renewable service contract that covers you for unexpected repair bills or mechanical break down for your air conditioner, water heater, major appliance, plumbing and electrical systems. Our Home Service Warranty Protection Plan will protect you for one full year from the date of purchase and may be renewed each year. FREE yourself from the major expense and uncertainties of having to find a reputable service company by searching through the telephone book. Call the professionals at ECM.

When can I purchase an ECM Home Service Warranty Protection Plan?

An ECM Extended Service Warranty can be purchased at any time after your first year manufacturer’s warranty has expired, regardless of the age of your equipment. Coverage is available on your air conditioner, refrigerator, range, dishwasher, water heater, garbage disposal, washer, dryer, plumbing and electrical.

What areas does ECM Service Warranty cover?

ECM is currently providing full service to Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River Counties.

What is replacement protection?

Replacement protection is an additional coverage that may be purchased. It is so comprehensive that if we cannot repair your air conditioner, water heater or appliance, we will replace the system or appliance. Certain exclusions apply.

How much does an ECM Home Service Warranty cost?

The cost is very affordable and is based on the actual age of each piece of equipment that you wish to cover. We have service protection plans for as little as $159 a year. The annual cost is certainly much lower than the out-of-pocket expenses associated with repair or replacement fees, each time one of your systems or appliances breaks.

Is ECM licensed and bonded?

We are licensed and bonded to perform air conditioning, plumbing, electrical and appliance repairs and installations. We are also licensed by the State of Florida, Department of Insurance to sell Extended Service Warranty Protection Plans.

Is my contract guaranteed?

Yes. In order to guarantee our service contracts, the State requires that we maintain a $100,000 cash deposit with the State of Florida and 25% of all monies collected are deposited into a special escrow account for the duration of the contract. We must submit quarterly financial reports to the state.

All our technicians are licensed and EPA certified. ECM offers the best A/C response time in the industry providing same day service on air conditioning outages if the call is received before noon. Unlike most other service companies, ECM does not use outside subcontractors and hires only the most highly, and continually, trained technicians in our industry. We provide same-day or next-day service, usually within 24 hours, six days a week. In addition, we only use factory-approved replacement parts in order to prolong the life of your systems and appliances.

Yes – if you sell your home during the term of your contract, it may be transferred to the new homeowner.

Can I cancel my warranty protection plan?

Yes, although this is discouraged as it leaves homeowners unprotected. You may cancel your contract at any time prior to expiration. In the event the contract is cancelled by the customer, return of premium shall be based upon 90% unearned pro rata premium less any claims for service rendered.

Do I have to pay a deductible?

ECM offers two types of contracts. Traditional and Deductible.

Unlike most other plans an ECM traditional contract requires no deductible on covered equipment. This contract has no service fees or per visit charges.

ECM’s deductible contracts are available for customers who would like to pay a lower premium up front and a $45 deductible at the time of service.

When does coverage expire?

All Extended Service Warranty Protection Plans expire one year from date of purchase and may be renewed at that time. To better serve our customers, we mail out a renewal policy up to four weeks before the policy expires.

ECM will dispatch a technician, your problem will be fixed (94% of our calls are resolved on the first visit) and you pay nothing. It’s that easy.
