Energy Saving Tips

Below are several tips that you can use to save energy consumption in your home, not only will they help the environment but they will also reduce your monthly bills

  • Replace your old inefficient A/C with a new energy saving model. One of the most common reasons for high energy bills are due to inefficient heating and cooling equipment.
  • Install a programmable thermostat to lower your utility bills and manage your heating and cooling systems efficiently.
  • Look for Energy Star labels on light bulbs, home appliances, and electronics. Energy Star products meet strict efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy
  • Lower the thermostat on your water heater to 120 degrees Farenheit
  • Air dry dishes instead of using your dishwashers drying cycle.
  • Install low-flow showerheads.
  • Clean or replace air filters as recommended. Energy is lost when air conditioners have to work harder to draw air through.
  • Wrap your water heater in an insulating jacket. It can save 1100lbs of carbon dioxide per year for an electric water heater or 220 lbs for a gas heater.
